Arsene Wenger has confirmed Tomas Rosicky will be unavailable for up to three months, while Danny Welbeck is edging closer to his return.

However, the report doesn’t state how long this latest setback will keep Rosicky out for, but it doesn’t seem likely that he will make an appearance again this term. It’s a partial rupture. He could be out of action for two to three months.

“Has he already played his last game for Arsenal?”. It’s been a hard few days for me to accept. Sometimes you always say that you can always do better or that you can always improve more and more, but I don’t know what more I could have done.

There was some good news on the injury front for the Gunners as Wenger confirmed that striker Danny Welbeck is set to feature for Arsenal’s Under-21s against Brighton and Hove Albion at the club’s London Colney training base on Friday.

“But his injury is quite serious”.

“We are all of course shocked and he is the most shocked, we have to be patient and hope it was not his last game”.

Rosicky joined Arsenal in 2006 from Borussia Dortmund and has made over 200 appearances for the club, but has seen his progress interupted by a series of injuries. “I don’t want to be dramatic, because he suffers enough at the moment”.

“In the next three weeks he should be available”, said Wenger.

“He has not played for 10 months so we need to be patient with him”. He has a good basic fitness but he has to get competitiveness and decision-making.
