Instagram rolling out multiple account support to select iOS users

Last year, Instagram tested multiple account support in its Android app, allowing users to quickly switch between accounts without constantly signing in and out. What you’re going to see, if you’re super lucky, is the option to add multiple accounts to your single Instagram app. This was revealed as an option for the Beta users on Android not too long ago – now iOS users will be given the same opportunity.

Once you’re logged in to more than one account, Instagram will let you switch between them by tapping your name on your profile page and then selecting the account you want to use from a dropdown menu. This will be very useful for users who are managing their personal account as well as business accounts. The new feature will most likely roll out gradually to more users over the following weeks. Overall, it sounds like Instagram is testing out this feature before it becomes permanent. Should fixes and adjustments be made, new versions are also expected to roll out in the coming months. After choosing, you should see a selector beside the account nickname at the top of the profile page. You should be able to access the “Add Account” option at the bottom, which works exactly like the one in the iOS version.

According to 9to5 Mac users had previously turned to third-party Instagram accounts, but those were removed from the App Store on grounds of violating privacy policies.
