The investigation is still in its infancy and authorities said they don’t know much just yet.
Chicago police are conducting a homicide investigation after six people, including a child, were found dead at a Gage Park home Thursday afternoon.
One of them belonged to a child, probably between 10 and 12 years old.
“There are signs of trauma to the bodies”, Interim Supt.
The police were initially called by a man who identified himself as the co-worker of one of the residents at the home located on the 5700-block of South California. “After they made entry, they discovered what we have now found to be six bodies inside the residence”.
The 8th District has added patrols in the area, but Escalante said he does not believe there is a threat to the community. “There’s a very real possibility that this is all something internal that was contained within the residence”, Escalante said.
“We are in shock”, the relative said.
“[She was] a good person, very happy”, she said in Spanish.
The identities of the victims have not been released as officers are waiting for the medical examiner to enter the home. The caller indicated his coworker had not been at work for the last two days.
