The Coast Guard says one of its helicopters has rescued four people after their 23-foot pleasure boat ran aground near San Juan Island in northwest Washington.
The Coast Guard said Tuesday in a news release that the boat is anchored and its navigation lights are on.
The 16-metre fishing boat Scotia Provider was about 240 kilometres off the coast of Cape Cod, Mass., when its engine room began taking on water.
The Coast Guard command centre in Boston received the beacon and two aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod were sent. Multiple fishing vessels and the 270-foot Coast Guard Cutter Escanabawere diverted to assist.

The men were safely hoisted to the helicopter and flown back to Cape Cod.
