Divyansh death case: Principal, 4 others of Ryan International school arrested
Five days after a class I student of Ryan International School Divyansh Kakrora was found dead in a water tank located in the school premises on January 30, the Delhi police today arrested the school’s Principal and four other staff members on charges of causing death due to negligence. “We arrested the five accused on charge of negligence”, the officer added. Following this, the Delhi government had also ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.

The six-year-old boy’s parents had earlier blamed the school for the death of their son and termed the entire episode as a “conspiracy”. The arrests made today were merely a formality.
The police officials from Vasant Kunj (North) in the southern suburbs of the capital, were conducting investigations over a period of the week and have questioned school authorities, students and the parents of the child. “I want a CBI probe into the matter”. The victim’s family alleged that no one from the school came to help the child when he fell into a water tank and that the school refrained from informing police and fire services.
“Did the police ask them why did they inform us four hours after the death”. They obviously wanted to destroy the evidence. The principal and others are involved and they are not speaking out. Police have sought documents from Delhi Development Authority and the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, said the sources.

Meanwhile, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Thursday met the family of six-year-old Divyansh who was found dead inside a water reservoir in his school. Mr. Sisodia, also the Education Minister, assured of full support. “A special team led by ACP K P Kukreti and SHO Virender Sangwan was formed to ascertain who was responsible for the death”, said DCP (south) Prem Nath. We understand parents going through this moment of loss. “The police have hushed up the school’s foul play in their investigations”, he said.
