XCOM 2 will be compatible with the Steam Controller at launch
“We’re excited to announce that Firaxis and Valve are collaborating on native integration for the Steam Controller, and we can’t wait for fans to get early access to it starting today”. As part of that effort, Valve is offering a 40-percent discount on the Steam Controller when purchased with XCOM 2, for a total price of $90 for both.

Firaxis is looking to change that with the release of XCOM 2.
The post also said that the camera controls for the game will feature high precision and responsiveness in Tactical and Geoscape view by using the Steam Controller’s trackpads. The highly anticipated turn-based sequel is now available on PC, and support for the Steam controller is built in.
Will you be using the Steam Controller with XCOM 2?
XCOM 2 will also force gamers to adapt to the fact that losses are impossible to avoid as they seek to secure the resources they need to improve their forces and field squads that can deal with the most powerful enemy forces. Or will you be more comfortable with a keyboard and mouse? These alien pods work the same way the player’s XCOM squad does by complementing each other with their abilities and tactics, making for a much more challenging experience.

We’re now playing the game for review and will share our thoughts with you as soon as they’re fully cooked, but first impressions are entirely positive.
