Moyer, Peyton Manning hired two private investigators to look into Charlie Sly, the man at the center of Al Jazeera’s human growth hormone documentary.

The HGH allegations against Peyton Manning became public December 27 when the Al Jazeera America network aired its documentary The Dark Side: Secrets of the Sports Dopers. Sly claimed his statements to Al Jazeera were recorded without his knowledge. However, Fleischer did confirm the anti-aging clinic made shipments to Manning’s wife, but stopped short of saying what exactly was shipped. The men reportedly claimed to be law enforcement officers, but Sly’s parents were so suspicious that they instructed their daughter to place a 911 emergency call.
According to the report, Sly’s lawyer says Sly is cooperating with the ongoing NFL and MLB investigations into the documentary and that Manning’s own investigation has not interfered with the NFL and MLB investigations.
According to the report, Manning’s lawyers hired two private investigators to identify and find who his accuser was once they became aware of Al Jazeera’s report – which was a full five days before it was released. According to Cohron, everything Sly said in the documentary about helping athletes take performance-enhancing drugs was a fabrication to impress Al Jazeera’s undercover reporter. The source, an intern at Indianapolis-based anti-aging clinic The Guyer Institute, had been secretly recorded claiming Manning’s wife, Ashley, received deliveries of human growth hormone in 2011.
“It was pure puffery”, Cohron said of Sly’s words.
Ari Fleischer, the former White House press secretary hired by Manning to contest the allegations, confirmed to the Post that The Guyer Institute did ship medication to Ashley Manning. “(Sly) was manufacturing a story to bolster his own appearance”.
HGH is banned by professional sports leagues and is legal to prescribe for only a few specific medical conditions.
Manning’s pre-emptive investigation, Fleischer said, was a “natural reaction” to being asked to respond to anonymous allegations.
Manning has adamantly denied the accusations and has said little beyond that the documentary had no credibility.
“All the time we would be sending Ashley Manning drugs”, Sly said in the report.

“I told Peyton right after the (AFC Championship Game) everyone here is so excited, and it’s so deserving because I don’t think anyone is more respected by everyone in the game, meaning you guys in the media to the players on the field he’s playing against”, Irsay said in the report.
