Eagles still lack QB, defense to be Super Bowl worthy

Your means of coming to that conclusion for the Denver Broncos or Carolina Panthers winning, may be as simple as you think a horse could take a panther if they got into a scuffle, or based on your killer instincts on the fantasy football field.

R-E-L-A-X, it is nearly here.

Rivera said the defensive end “earned the rest” after going “full blast since we started”.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning will be inside Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., to cheer on older brother Peyton, for whom he’ll root to lead the Broncos to an upset of the Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Before this stretch, it had happened only three other times since the current playoff format was established prior to the 1990 season. While that trio of accomplishments is impressive, it’s hasn’t historically guaranteed a deep run through the postseason. If anything, the two teams participating in the Super Bowl show how far the Eagles still have to go. That will be a much tougher trick than it was versus New England, since Carolina is the No. 1 running team in the NFL. Otherwise? This could look like the last time the Broncos played in the Super Bowl.

Jeanna Thomas (The Falcoholic co-editor in chief): Carolina… the Carolina Panthers are a very complete team.

For Carolina, there’s also the pressure of capturing the franchise’s first-ever Lombardi Trophy. He’s one of the living Super Bowl MVPs scheduled to be honored during pregame ceremonies. Their performance in the first half against Seattle was from another world.

So the Broncos are different, and the Panthers are, as Michael Bennett once put it, kissing cousins with the Seahawks. They will also be hosting a special Super Bowl edition of their weekly “Big Gay Football Day” party. Yet, success has been fleeting for them on this stage.

The Super Bowl commercials have become an attraction in and of themselves and are watched just as closely as the game itself. It’s a foregone conclusion that Newton will get the league’s Most Valuable Player award on Saturday night, and if he’s allowed to dominate, this game could be a blowout. They had already been to one AFC Championship game at that point, but the big question hanging over them was whether they could keep that up. Denver’s defense has lifted this team all season long with their big-play ability.
