Predators put up points, don’t get to play on at All-Star Game

It was a big weekend in Nashville as the NHL All Star Game took place, and a fan favourite came out of the tournament with the title of MVP.

This tweet might say fourth, but I hate that type of ranking.

With his two goals during the league’s first ever 3-on-3 tournament on Sunday and all-around great performance throughout the All-Star weekend, Scott was voted by fans as the MVP of the game after his Pacific Division picked up a 1-0 win in the tournament’s championship game over the Atlantic Division. National Hockey League defenseman John Scott is an enforcer.

Music City waited 18 years to host the NHL All-Star game. “It’s insane. You can’t make that stuff up”. Something amusing happened on the way to Nashville year, John Scott was voted in as the captain of the Pacific All-Stars and it may have been one of the best things that happened for hockey in a long time.

What will he do with his portion of the Pacific Division’s $1 million prize?

John Scott’s jersey didn’t even have a team’s name on the front – just the NHL logo, which is ironic, since the National Hockey League put up quite a fight to keep him out of their All-Star game. Scott now plays in the minors for the Canadiens, but he represented the Pacific Division because he was on the Arizona Coyotes’ NHL roster when he was voted in, prior to a January 15 trade to Montreal.

Jagr, who turns 44 later this month, notched the Atlantic’s second goal of the game, scoring with 37.3 seconds remaining in the first of the two 10-minute periods. That strengthened his resolved to show up. But fans love players like Scott for the grit he brings to the game. Today, some of ex-teammates and players around the league paid him back with an honor that he will never forget and neither will I. I’m sure I’ll be talking about things I eat, too. It was a great story. I give him a lot of credit for what he did, and I think at the same time it created some curiosity in the games.

“You can’t put it into words, you can’t write this stuff”, Scott said. According to a press release from NBCSN, viewership of this year’s NHL All-Star Game (5:03-8:27 p.m. ET) from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., was up 34% vs. last season’s game (1.194 million) in Columbus. “M-V-P!” and the National Hockey League finally got out of the way.

In the semifinal win, Scott humorously knocked down former Chicago teammate Patrick Kane and then dropped the gloves in a mock fight against the skilled Blackhawks star after Kane answered with a goal.

And the six-foot, eight-inch forward has some more fans on the way.

In danger of becoming a non-competitive snoozefest like the NFL’s Pro Bowl, the NHL All-Star Game needed a jolt of life.

He strongest support group is about to grow by two. Danielle, who is pregnant with twins, said she had to calm herself down after Scott’s second goal.

“I don’t know if this changes anything as far as my career goes”, he said.

All right, now for a story of a goon-made-good. It’s just so nice for people to see who he is. “And, he really isn’t”. He obviously has no business being in the game, based on what he has done this season (one assist, 25 penalty minutes in 11 games) or his career (5 goals, 6 assists, 11 points and 542 penalty minutes in 285 games).
