PPP will continue struggle for Kashmir’s rights: Bilawal

Muzaffarabad – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the peace in South Asia can not be achieved without the resolution of the Kashmir issue, and it should be sorted out through dialogue.

PM said Kashmir issue is a test for the sitting governments of Pakistan and India, and the two countries could not prosper without resolving it. He also expressed hope that the dialogue between the two countries will resume soon.

Thanking the Prime Minister, Opposition Leader Sardar Farooq Haider urged the Pakistani government to ensure benefits of China Pakistan Economic Corridor to people of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said it was the moral obligation of all independent nations to get the UN resolutions implemented.

Expressing concern over the human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir on Friday unanimously demanded peaceful solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue in line with the UN Security Council resolutions. “This comes from the heart”, she said.

Welcoming Nawaz Sharif, Speaker of assembly Ghulam Sadiq said the visit of prime minister of Pakistan to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir will further strengthen “our struggle against Indian occupation”. “There has never been such clarity on the Kashmir issue”, he said. He said that Pakistan had assured India of its cooperation on all issues, including terrorism.

The prime minister had called for a just settlement of the decades-old dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He said the incumbent government led by the PML-N had plans to lay down a railway track from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad and construct an expressway from Muzaffarabad to Mirpur. He said Murree Expressway also would be extended to Muzaffarabad.

“Pakistan is most affected by terrorism”. He said the government has chose to improve management and functioning of PIA, in order to ensure its progress but some political parties were creating hurdles in this regard. 5 billion for the construction of a new building of AJK Legislative Assembly.

Sharif also announced assistance of 250 million Pakistani rupees (nearly $2.4 million) for development of the Pakistani side of Kashmir. He said that there was a lot of improvement in the power supply situation and load shedding would end by 2018.
