Speeches That Earned Hillary Clinton Millions Remain A Mystery
After a particularly feisty squabble, co-moderator Rachel Maddow acknowledged, “Obviously we’ve touched a nerve”.

The Quinnipiac poll was released four days before the state of New Hampshire votes in the first primary of the 2016 election race.
Clinton was booed after she charged Sanders with a smear campaign. Almost a quarter of Democrats and two-fifths of independents say they are still not that familiar with Sanders.
Asked if she would release transcripts of her paid speeches to Wall Street interests and others, Clinton was noncommittal – “I’ll look into it”.
“There is this attack that he is putting out, which really comes down to, anybody who took donations or speaking fees from any interest group has to be bought”, she said.
At a town hall hosted by CNN on Wednesday Clinton fumbled a response to questions about $675,000 she was paid to speak at an event for Goldman Sachs, the investment bank. She said she would travel to Flint, Mich., at the request of the mayor to see what assistance she can offer the city, which is dealing with a water crisis.
Hillary Clinton praised the city of Richmond for launching a pilot program for police body cameras.
There is still a wide gap between the two in name recognition nationally.
“He is honest about his philosophies as a democratic socialist”, says Jeff Weaver, asked if Sanders would play down that label if he won the Democratic nomination.
The debate was the fiercest between the candidates as she came out swinging at her rival on her most vulnerable flank, challenging him to point to where she had changed her position because of a donation.
Hours before Sanders arrived, a line of people waited in a Friday morning snowstorm to see the Vermonter, whose voice was raspier than usual as he spoke about defending women’s rights, raising the minimum wage, lifting children out of poverty, and making public universities and colleges tuition free.
During the debate, Clinton’s Twitter account also blasted Sanders on his ability to protect the country, including the line: “There is only one person who is ready to be commander in chief on stage at the #DemDebate”.
For even more perspective, Clinton has received more money from the financial sector during her Senate and presidential campaigns than her husband, former President Bill Clinton, did in his 25-year political career, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
“Senator Sanders and I share some very big progressive goals”, the former secretary of state said as the debate got underway.
“Secretary Clinton does represent the establishment”, he said. “I don’t think it was progressive to vote to give gun-makers and sellers immunity”.
Clinton said Thursday night she “was holding out hope” that the deal would be one she could support.
“It was a useful exercise for me, because it also enabled me to think through, kind of, where I was in the assessment of what I would do next”, Clinton told MSNBC.
Instead, she used the question as an opportunity to tout her foreign policy credentials. I’m actually not – I’m not in any way advocating we just keep doing the same things over and over again, because that won’t solve our problems.

“I probably described more times than I can remember how stressful it was advising the president about going after Bin Laden”, she said.
