Conte, who is not due to discuss his future with the FIGC until February, is believed to want a return to club football and unless he steers Italy to victory in the summer, they are not expected to stand in his way.

Chelsea have agreed a four year deal with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri according to reports from Italy.

Since the departure of Jose Mourinho in December 2015, a number of names have been linked with the Blues’ hot-seat, including Diego Simeone and former Bianconeri man Antonio Conte.

In Hiddink’s first stint as interim manager he returned a 73% winning percentage, which was far superior than his current run of 50% wins.

Last season he guided Juventus to a domestic cup double and reached the Champions League final which he lost 3-1 to an impressive Barca team.
