Obama salutes National Basketball Association champs at White House
The 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors were invited to the White House on Thursday (Feb. 4) for a night of praise and a bit of shade thrown at the top ballers by way of the POTUS.

After the Warriors opened the game with a torrent of threes and got out to a 17 point lead, Wall could have panicked and tried to shoot more threes to get the team back into the game.
Obama, the NBA’s most prominent fan, charmed the Warriors as they celebrated a championship season that got the attention of the leader of the free world.
“At the end of the game I knew I was within reach”. “You can’t mess around with the basketball gods trying to chase a record if the game doesn’t call for it”. Jeremy Lin scored 24 points and assisted on eight occasions for the Hornets.
Obama poked fun at Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, describing and then replicating how the guard was “clowning” during the previous night’s thrashing of the Washington Wizards.
“It’s a pretty big deal to go to the White House, visit and shake the President’s hand”, Budenholzer said.
Curry finished 19-of-28 from the field, including 11-of-16 on three-pointers for his fourth career game with at least 50 points.
“So we’re pretty lucky today that we’ve got one of those players in the house Steve Kerr”, Obama said, referring to the Warriors coach, who also played on those Bulls teams.
“I thanked him for his work on gun control, which is an important political issue for me and my family”, Kerr told the San Jose Mercury News. “Obviously with Michael drawing so much attention everywhere we went”. “I think today things are bigger in a lot of ways with social media and so many different media outlets”.
Kerr jokingly took the blame for Curry missing out on a 12th 3-pointer, saying, “My fault”.
Two of Golden State Warriors’ brightest stars, reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Stephen Curry and prolific scorer Klay Thompson, are foes when the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest commence in the All-Star Weekend.
The Wizards were guided by interim coach Don Newman as coach Randy Wittman was away from the team following his brother’s death.
With leading scorer Kemba Walker sidelined by a sore left knee, backup Jeremy Lin stepped up to lead Charlotte home 106-97 over Cleveland.
Kyrie Irving had 26 points and LeBron James added 23 for the Cavaliers.
The real Curry has 22 30-point games, on pace for 36 for the season.
