Gujarat CM Anadiben Patel’s daughter under scanner for alleged land deal
The party said the issue would “definitely” be raised in the budget session of Parliament as it pertained directly to the PM “who has claimed that he has zero tolerance towards corruption”.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said “this is absolutely shocking”.
AAP today demanded the resignation of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and constitution of a probe panel to look into alleged irregularities in allocation of government land near Gir Lion Sanctuary to a company which has business links with her daughter Anar Patel. The party demanded a Special Investigation Team probe into the matter, monitored by the Supreme Court.
“Around 250 acres of forest land in an eco-sensitive zone was by the Gujarat Government, and even at that time the valuation was Rs. 60, 000 per acre and it was given for Rs. 15 per meter square”.
“The Congress is a history-sheeter in making false charges as it has a policy of “shoot and scoot” and has not been able to prove any charges against this government”, BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said, adding, “Land allotments done in Gujarat during Narendra Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister, over which the Congress is making false and baseless charges, have been made as per law and after following a transparent three-tier evaluation process”.
“Was this allocation based on a Cabinet decision and endorsed by (then) chief minister (Modi) and whether conflict of interest, if any, was disclosed?” asked Sharma.
“Total price of the land, thus, came to only Rs 1.5 crore whereas the estimated market price of this land was to the tune of Rs 50 lakh per acre – a total of Rs 125 crore for 250 acres”.
The Congress alleged that norms were flouted to extend undue benefit to firms owned by CM’s daughter Anar Patel and her business partners. What was the criteria for allotment of land to a company having no experience or knowledge of setting up resorts?
“An MoU was signed between the company in question, Wildwoods Resorts and Realties (WWR) and the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) for developing a wildlife resort in Dhari taluka of Amreli district near Gir lion sanctuary at an investment of Rs 80 crore”.
For her part, Anar Patel has already rubbished the Congress’s allegations in her Facebook post.

According to the Economic Times, Wildwoods’ original promoter Sanjay Dhanak handed control of the company in 2011-12 to businessmen Dakshesh Shah and Amol Sheth, who are allegedly business partners of Anar Patel. Why has no action been taken on the same by Government of Gujarat?
