Question of the Day: Who You Got in Super Bowl 50?

They have one final pre-game workout on Saturday with an 11 a.m. team photo and walk-through practice at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, site of Super Bowl 50. Call it familiar ground.

Manning is 1-2 all-time in Super Bowl games and has lost his last two appearances. Consider it part of “the noise” the Broncos say doesn’t matter. I predict someone like Von Miller or Emmanuel Sanders will be more deserving, but the writers still give Manning the MVP trophy. Cornerbacks Robert McClain and veteran Cortland Finnegan are beatable and will be two corners I see Manning targeting on Sunday. I also like the way that whole team is going right now. “Anything can happen on Sunday”.

Either way, the Broncos have comfortably worn the uniform of confident underdog.

In 16 starts during the regular season, Newton completed 296 passes for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.

Smith said he’s leaning to Denver because his son is a Broncos fan. Fifty-three of ESPN’s staff of writers, editors, analysts, columnists and pundits predict the Panthers will win the big game with only 17 placing their money on the Broncos. “They have led the charge for us to be here from the get-go”.

Manning also has a passing yards OVER/UNDER of 235.5 for the Super Bowl, with Newton’s slightly higher at 237.5. “People really, truly, I don’t think they’ve analyzed everything that we’ve done on defense this whole year”. Quinn is endorsing nothing like former safety and now network analyst Rodney Harrison’s suggestion of trying to injure Newton (potentially and intentionally ending someone’s career is apparently a reasonable objective on the way to winning a game).

Playing in the Super Bowl has “become a common thing for us, and not everybody can say that”.

All 53 Broncos players are listed as probable for the Super Bowl, so injuries will not be an excuse this time around.

They hired head coach Gary Kubiak, who promised the Broncos would get tougher and not simply rely on the arm of aging Peyton Manning, and brought aboard defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. “At the same time, we’ve kind of bought into that mode”. That’s the best word I can think of.

Now, let’s look at the defense of the Super Bowl participants. Although, I do have an allegiance to the New York Giants because my dad, Phillippi Sparks, played for them from 92′-99′.

“You’ve got this one quarterback that’s maybe changing the way the position’s being played in Cam Newton, then you’ve got this guy who’s been one of the best dropback quarterbacks in terms of intelligence, smarts, work ethic, study and all that stuff, so it should be interesting there”.
