No last-minute invite for Fiorina to debate
The Republican Party “looks bad” for blocking Carly Fiorina from tonight’s debate, and the move could alienate Granite State independents from a GOP already struggling to woo minorities and women, said former New Hampshire House Speaker Gene McCarthy.

While the lineup has not been announced yet, Fiorina and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore are the only two who are likely to be disqualified under the criteria announced last week. The candidate urged her supporter to “flood” ABC, the RNC and Twitter.
The current criteria for the debate will not include any candidate who does not finish in the top-three in the Iowa caucuses or poll in the top six positions either nationally or in New Hampshire.
Really, what good reason is there to exclude Fiorina from the debates at this point? Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to his left and Sen. A pro-Fiorina super PAC, CARLY for America, launched a petition on her behalf, which she and her staff also promoted.
“What this debate debacle shows it that votes and delegates actually don’t matter that much anymore”, she said. “What matters are back room deals between the RNC and the ABC about who will get on”.
“Carly Fiorina has campaigned hard in New Hampshire to earn support from voters”, said Ayotte. They’re bunched up in the polls, with Kasich at 10 percent, Bush at 9 and Christie at 4 percent in the latest NBC/WSJ/Marist poll.
So, I think that – it’s an odd decision to leave her off the stage. “As you all know, leadership and management is a skill”, she said.
“It is a rigged game, and it is rigged against the voters of New Hampshire because they won’t have all of the options and all of the choices that they deserve”, Fiorina told the New Hampshire Union Leader in a sitdown interview. “People know this is ridiculous”. Conventional wisdom in both parties says the GOP must appeal to political moderates and non-white voters who are becoming a greater share of the voting-age population.
The GOP candidates are next set to debate Saturday in New Hampshire. They don’t think establishment politicians and establishment media executives get to decide who they hear from. She also emphasized her experience in the tech sector and how she’d incorporate that knowledge on the job (“There’s an app for citizen government, ladies and gentlemen”), jabbing at Clinton’s email blunders and gently ribbing New Hampshire voters for being behind the times (“I gotta say, there are a lot of flip phones here in New Hampshire”, she joked, getting a big laugh).
Carly’s campaign reflects the characteristics of her American dream life story. “So maybe George doesn’t want to see Hillary Clinton ever have to debate”, Fiorina added.
