Rivals now target Rubio; Trump calls for an Iowa do-over

Neither is likely to happen and Cruz’s campaign treated Trump’s broadside with amusement.

Carson – who has still not been to New Hampshire since Iowa – hastily called a press conference Wednesday afternoon to presumably criticize Cruz. “Cruz strongly told thousands of caucusgoers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of Obamacare and “choice” – a total lie!” tweeted Trump. He is bringing his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, now 90 years old, to New Hampshire to campaign for him. “He lost, and he doesn’t like that”.

The poll found the most support for Rubio in a theoretical three-man race for the nomination, with 34% picking the Florida senator compared with 33% for Trump and 25% for Cruz.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is joined by his wife Melania Trump as speaks during a campaign event, Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. “Bad!” Mr Trump amended the tweet shortly afterwards, removing the word “illegally”.

“I don’t know anyone who would be comfortable with someone who behaves this way having his finger on the button”.

Too controversial “I was going to say, “They’re full of shit”.

Donald Trump said on Thursday that he believes he will win the New Hampshire primary, but sounded less certain that his supporters would come out to vote for him.

Trump tweeted that “during primetime of the Iowa Caucus, Cruz put out a release that @RealBenCarson was quitting the race, and to caucus (or vote) for Cruz”.

Mr Cruz apologised to Dr Carson, but members of his campaign dismissed Mr Trump’s allegations on Wednesday during a campaign stop in New Hampshire.

So if a candidate doesn’t like the way another candidate describes his record, the second candidate’s victories get cancelled?

“Reality has hit the reality star”, Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler responded in a statement.

Staffers for Mr Cruz had circulated a news report that Dr Carson would be leaving the campaign trail to return home.

Mr Cruz’s campaign has also been criticised for distributing an official-looking leaflet to voters ahead of the election, telling them that failing to vote constituted a “violation”. One thing is clear: None of these guys are here to make friends. “I made changes”, he said. He has held a comfortable lead in national polls, as well as surveys in Iowa and New Hampshire for months, but had to settle for second in last Monday’s opening caucuses.

HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Trump’s latest Twitter rant?

Chris Christie, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are trying to portray Rubio, 44, as inexperienced and running on style, Politico noted. Cruz is in a distant second place, but could turn a surprise showing there with momentum from Monday’s win.
