Boston College’s Dennis Clifford (24) puts up a shot over the defense of Louisville’s Chinanu Onuaku (32) and Jay Henderson (11) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, in Louisville Ky.

Boston College are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games and are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall while the over is 20-8-1 in their last 29 Saturday games.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE (7-15, 0-9 ACC): Forced into more playing time following injuries to fellow guards Jerome Robinson (wrist) and Darryl Hicks (concussion), freshman guard Sammy Barnes-Thompkins (4.3 points) produced a season-high 14 points versus the Cavaliers. Donovan Mitchell was next in line with ten points and five pulls while Trey Lewis chipped in with nine points. Louisville president James Ramsey said an internal probe confirmed violations did occur, leading to the ban for the Cardinals (18-4, 7-2), who were a lock for the NCAA Tournament and trending upward for a potential deep run.

The administration ripped away the dreams of players at a point in the calendar when they have no option but to accept it and try to endure, and it’s especially unfair for fifth-year seniors Damion Lee and Trey Lewis, both of whom decided back in April, well before the scandal broke, to transfer and spend their final seasons of eligibility at Louisville so that they could finally participate in the NCAA Tournament. Other than a few lapses that allowed Boston College to get within single digits, the Cardinals used most of their bench to that end. The Cardinals took a giant step in that direction with Monday’s 71-65 win versus top ranked North Carolina.

“We just were really cold”, coach Jim Christian said. Those struggles made it easy for the Cardinals to mount a 17-0 run over 4:05 for a 19-2 lead and an advantage that reached 19.

Louisville evened the series at 3 with an 81-72 victory last season at Boston College, its second straight win over the Eagles.
