Watch the Super Awkward Introduction of the GOP Debate

The announcers were calling out candidates one-by-one and did so a little quickly, calling Dr. Ben Carson’s name nearly right after they introduced Governor Cris Christie and it turned into a huge disaster at that moment.

Saturday night, seven Republican candidates made their last nationally-televised push to the voters before Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary. Whether he did not hear his name called or simply had other plans in mind is not yet known, but his actions seemed to cause a bit of uncertainty among the other candidates as well.

Carson stood backstage as the other candidates had to awkwardly walk around him as each was introduced.

Then he makes a dash for it: with a shoulder-shrug and one eyebrow raised, Bush glides past Trump, patting his opponent on the arm before taking his place on stage. His disembodied arm waves Carson forward, but it’s too late.

Recognising his opponents’ error, Rubio strides onto stage as Trump and Carson look on. They also almost forgot to invite Ohio Gov. John Kasich onto the stage.

Donald Trump got booed a lot. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie volunteered to do the introduction himself.

During the debate, Google reported that searches of “Is Ben Carson still running for President?” rose.
