The woman, identified in Israeli media as 24-year-old Shlomit Krigman, was one of two Israelis to be targeted in an attack carried out by two Palestinians on Monday.
The attack in Beit Horon, north-west of Jerusalem, is the third stabbing inside an Israeli settlement since last week.
Police said a security guard shot and killed the two assailants, who were caught on a surveillance camera trying to storm into Beit Horon’s grocery store as its owner used a shopping cart to block their entry.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday accused the United Nations chief of “encouraging terror” after Ban Ki-moon spoke of Palestinian frustration at Israel’s occupation and said it was natural to resist.
Hamdallah added, “the Deputy FM of Israel should disclose the sources of funding, local & foreign, that her government funnels to illegal settlements where many extremists reside, some of them are terrorists that have Palestinian blood on their hands, instead of using smoke and mirrors to deceive the worldwide community”.
The Israeli army barred Palestinian laborers from entering Israeli settlements where they work in response to last week’s attacks, preventing some 11,000 Palestinians from reaching their work. The identities and ages of the alleged attackers yesterday were not immediately released. Most of the Palestinians killed since October have been attackers, while others have been shot dead by Israeli forces during protests and clashes.
