Apple debuted on Google’s competing mobile OS past year with the launch of Apple Music on Android.

In the ultimate twist of fate, the tech giant awkwardly discovered Apple Music actually works better on Android smartphones than it does on its own devices. Citing “multiple sources in attendance at the event”, the publication reported that the discussions covered a wide range of topics, with a focus on Apple’s plans for the future.

For example, bringing Apple Pay to Android would be a challenge because “Apple obviously doesn’t have the same control over both hardware and software that it does on its own platforms”, Engadget noted yesterday.

On the other hand, your Android brethren can now enjoy an additional 128GB of music without an LTE or Wi-Fi connection.

iMessages on Android would also be a welcome addition to Google-powered phones.

Of course, in order for this to succeed, Cook admits that they’ll need to make their services available across all platforms – not just those made by Apple. The feature comes with the app’s latest update, and it gives Android users a big advantage over those who use Apple Music on iOS. If iOS users want to keep a section of their music library offline, they’re limited to the storage size of their device. Now it seems that the two veritable tech powerhouses will continue this “strange bedfellows” relationship going forward, according to intel gleaned from a recent Apple town hall meeting.
