The storm left more than a foot of snow in some spots, but compared to the more than nine feet that fell last winter, New Englanders said they could deal with it.

BOSTON (AP) – New England is digging out from its first big snowfall of the season, as forecasters eye another potential winter storm early next week. “If I never see snow again, I won’t miss it”.

The motorcade of Democratic presidential candidate Sen.

Republican candidate John Kasich approached a 6-year-old girl at an event in Atkinson and asked her, “Don’t you want to be out in the snow?” and then told her father, “Dad, why don’t you take her out in the snow?”

Officials in MA and CT warned motorists to stay off roadways and the region’s main airport, Boston Logan International, reporting that about one in five flights had been canceled, with service to NY most effected. The wet, heavy snow weighs down tree limbs and power lines. National Grid reported about 22,000 customers without electricity in Rhode Island.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 1 a.m.to 3 p.m. Friday for northern Rhode Island, much of MA and northeast CT.

“Basically this storm is going impact both the morning and evening commutes in the Worcester and Boston areas”, Dunham said.

Areas around Boston and Worcester are expected to get anywhere between 4 to 7 inches of snow, while Cape Cod counties are expected to get anywhere from 7 inches and above due to ocean enhancement.

ME could get more. Meteorologist Mal Walker in Caribou says Maine’s eastern tip could see up to 11 inches.

Other parts of the states are forecast to get 2 to 5 inches.
