Blizzard warning out for southern Minnesota
The winter weather advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon through Monday morning in areas that include Long Prairie, Little Falls, Princeton, Mora, St. Cloud and Foley.

As for the total amount of snow expected, southeastern South Dakota is expected to receive less than one inch, while areas like Brookings and Watertown will be under a blizzard watch and could see 1 to 2 inches of snow. The snow is expected to from 5-8 a.m. Monday, with the heaviest occurring after 8 a.m. and into the early afternoon. The Weather Service reported that lake-enhanced snowfall of 3 to 6 inches is expected as northwest winds move across the relatively warm waters of Lake Superior.
Northeast winds of 30-40 miles per hour with gusts to 65 miles per hour are forecast, with visibility of a quarter-mile or less at times.
Temperatures will start to drop off Sunday night, and stay around the teens for the rest of the week.

A blizzard warning has been issued for part of northwestern and south-central Minnesota today into Monday, where falling and blowing snow combined with strong winds is expected to create whiteout conditions and make travel “extremely risky”.
