Bernie Sanders Appears on ‘SNL’ Opposite Doppelganger Larry David
It’s going to be tough to tell who’s the real Bernie Sanders when he goes on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend with host Larry David, who is a near-dead ringer for the Democratic presidential candidate.

Sanders appeared just before midnight, in a skit with host Larry David – playing a captain of a ship, or someone besides Sanders for a change. Sanders campaign reported that the senator would be headed to New York City to be on the show. In “Bern Your Enthusiasm“, David plays Bernie Sanders as his “Larry David” character from Curb Your Enthusiasm, complete with David’s neuroticisms and exaggerated hangups, but out on the campaign trail in Iowa. The appearance is perfectly timed just before the New Hampshire primaries this week, giving Sanders the ideal opportunity to woo late night viewers that he might be missing.
First up: This brilliant short film that combines David’s celebrated Bernie Sanders impression with his long-running HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Sanders appeared with David in a skit on a Titanic-like ship headed to America and under distress.
But if you started watching SNL looking to #FeelTheBern, you might have had a moment of worry, at least at first. “Huge difference”, Sanders replied, but said “huge” in the same fashion as GOP candidate Donald Trump.
I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of glad we’ll be seeing them in the same room. “Sounds like socialism to me”, David fires back. Finally, David said he deserved a seat because he was richer than the other passengers.
To drive home the point, the woman whom David-as-Sanders snubbed – and her entire family – later appeared on TV at a Hillary Clinton victory rally.

“Share a cab?” Sanders asked David. Bernie Sanders has morphed from a political figure into a mixture of pop culture icon and folk hero. “So, Bernie, how’s things going up in New Hampshire?”
