New Year’s fireworks a little quieter in Chinese capital
It is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. Also called Spring Festival, it has been celebrated for more than 4,000 years and is the most important annual event for Chinese people.

Chinese New Year starts on February 8 and it is the Year of the Monkey.
Each Lunar New Year celebrates a beloved animal in the Chinese zodiac, and according to Chinese traditions, this year’s quick-witted primate symbolizes luck and fortune.
