OJ Simpson mini-series has strong ratings in debut

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the creators of “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”, didn’t know much about late attorney Robert Kardashian before taking on their first TV project. J Simpson: “American Crime Story”, and this time, it’s another person who Simpson’s family know very well.

“(Ryan Murphy) did that and I think that took guts and vision and so it’s an awesome job, plus I got the gift of being played by the wonderful Sarah Paulson”, she adds.

“I think it’s awesome”, she tells Joy Behar on “The View”.

“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”, FX’s true crime miniseries about the famed trial, premiered to an impressive 5.1 million viewers on Tuesday night, according to Nielsen data. Kim authored a book titled Can’t Forgive: My 20-Year Battle With O.J. Simpson and has been vocal about making sure her brother isn’t forgotten. And though Danielle Henderson at the New York Times notes that the characters “all look like Bizarro World versions of their celebrity selves instead of actors who closely resemble the real people they’re portraying”, she ultimately found the premiere suspenseful and deems herself “impressed”.

Okay, taken separately, nothing I just listed screams “you need to watch this show” (except the Travolta eyebrow thing). Robert Kardashian, one of Simpson’s closest friends and his lawyer, is played in the show by none other than Friends sweetheart, David Schwimmer. Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. “This will never be entertaining to me”. As executive producer and director, Murphy composed shots throughout “The People v. O.J. Simpson” that are characteristic of “American Horror Story” with dark undertones and shots that move and zoom as the action happens.

“The series does a good job using actual news footage during the chase, and I’m afraid a whole new generation will be watching this as a documentary rather than a drama”, Kaelin wrote. I thought, ‘It’s just him and me.’ I had all that pent-up rage and anger, but at the end of the day, that’s not who I am.
