Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Slammed By Storm
It was a scary night at sea for passengers on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship after it was caught in a winter storm in the Atlantic.

“After seeing pictures and people’s comments on Twitter and other social media platforms, the USCG contacted the Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas to check in”, spokesman Mark Barney said.
According to CBS News, passengers were ordered to stay in their staterooms until the weather improved. Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to arrive in Port Canaveral, Florida later Monday morning. The cruise line said the ship was never in distress.
There have been no reported injuries to passengers or crew, or damages to the ship.
The ship is expected to stop in Port Canaveral later today, where forecasters are predicting significantly calmer weather. But in a statement sent this morning, Royal Caribbean says the storm strengthened far more than predicted.
“We are on the Anthem right now, left NY yesterday, we sailed in a storm that intensified very quickly, Captain tried to turn ship but waited too long”, he said in a post made about midnight Monday.
Officials said no serious injuries have been reported. “The ship has sustained some damage to the public areas and guest starerooms, which in no way affect the sea-worthiness of the ship”. “The ship is now sailing to Port Canaveral”. There are unverified estimates that winds topped 100 miles per hour.

Anthem of the Seas is one of the biggest cruise ships in service, a 4,180-passenger behemoth that regularly docks in South Florida.
