Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir’s former state chief minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday asked the PDP to form an elected government in the state or have the courage to break its alliance with the BJP.

Once Mehbooba rules out the possibility of forming the Government without written assurances from the centre on political and economic package she plan to move to people and tell them that since the BJP led NDA Government in general and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in particular, refused to concede her basic political and economic demands she could not form the Government which would be simply a great disservice to people in the state. He said this has actually happened during the past ten months PDP-BJP rule. “Then what has gone wrong with them?”
Omar said there has to be a time-frame for the announcement of the CBMs “as people are not going to wait for them forever”. “The agreement as far as our knowledge is concerned, the alliance (between BJP and PDP) still exists”.
“We will go back to the people”, Abdullah said. “Once such people resign, it is for the state governor to decide whether to accept their resignations or ask them to continue in their present positions”, he said.
Reacting to BJP Mr Abdullah taking to micro blogging site Twitter today said But thanks for accepting that @JKNC_ will win the elections when they are held.
“Mehbooba Mufti has been quiet for long and she can no longer remain silent and keep people guessing”.
The PDP chief had said that CBMs would help in creating an atmosphere congenial for formation of the new government in the state. She added that Mufti’s vision was a roadmap for the party. “The party is attracting those workers who are dissatisfied with other parties and can be alarming”, said a local. “We are ready for elections”.
Quoting BJP sources, IBN Live said that the alliance partner has asked the PDP that to take its final call on government formation in J&K not beyond the Parliament Session.

He also made it clear that his party was not ready to support BJP in case the PDP-BJP alliance breaks. Omar said BJP had explored options but NC doesn’t want any relation/alliance with them as it would not be beneficial for the State. “We have time and again made it clear that our doors to BJP are closed”. J and K has been without a government since the demise of Mehbooba’s father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7.
