Neville Spiteri, co-founder and CEO of Wevr said, “Through our collaboration with startup KaleidoscopeVR we discovered Tyler Hurd-known for a viral VR experience, Butts-and partnered with him on a new interactive experience that will be showcased at Tribeca Film Festival”, and adds, “Other artists coming to Transport include Phil Tippett (Academy Award victor best known for stop-motion animation work) and hip-hop band Run The Jewels’ debut VR work, VRTJ”.

Research firms such as Tractica and Goldman Sachs have announced a great future for the augmented reality market. The company predicts that hardware and content revenue of virtual reality will increase from $108.8 million in 2014 to $21.8 billion across the globe by 2020.

As for Wevr Transport, this is designed as an independent VR platform that will allow VR filmmakers to publish content and then share it with others. “Some publishers have embraced the new medium is its entirety, while others are watching the space cautiously to determine the appropriate level of investment”. To make sure that the VR content is available to a mass audience, the Transport app will be available on all headsets including Samsung Gear CR, HTC Vive, Google Cardboard, Facebook’s Oculus Rift, and Sony’s PlayStation Vive.

The company is now testing out its Transport service with a number of testers, using its own content and from its investors to help give the platform a distinctive edge prior to its roll out for the public.

Spiteri has said that consumers aren’t going to hesitate when it comes to paying for high quality content and Wevr is going to be able to deliver a high-quality virtual reality experience for them.
