Von values a Super Bowl ring over the MVP award

Peyton Manning #18 and Von Miller #58 of the Denver Broncos celebrate after defeating the Carolina Panthers during Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium on February 7, 2016 in Santa Clara, California. Take some time. Get away with your family.

“You know, I’ll take some time to reflect”, Manning replied. But the company – and always prominent Super Bowl night advertiser – insists that they never asked the NFL MVP to mention their beer. The Panthers came into the Super Bowl as a power rushing team and only gained 118 total yards on the ground, with 45 coming from Cam Newton.

For the second game in a row, outside linebacker Von Miller was a one-man wrecking crew as he forced two fumbles by Panthers quarterback (and league MVP) Cam Newton en route to winning Super Bowl MVP honors. There were four, including a third quarter interception by T.J. Ward.

Newton, who threw for 38 touchdowns and ran for 12 in his first 18 games, produced no touchdowns for the first time all season.

Turnovers proved costly for the Panthers. Miller then slapped the ball out of Newton’s hand for one of Newton’s two fumbles. Denver tied a Super Bowl record with seven sacks and frustrated the player nicknamed Superman. That could have put the game at a three point deficit heading into the half, but it was deflating for the Panthers.

Sunday’s game drew a rating of 49.0, the broadcast network said in a statement. “So I’m going to follow my coach’s advice”.

Miller emphasized his love for the entire Broncos team and said that the Super Bowl ring he’ll get for yesterday’s game is what means the most, because it’s what all of his teammates will share.

Manning’s father, Archie, meanwhile predicted that, at the very least, Peyton has played his last game with the Broncos.
