Tyrese first debuted on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart in 1998 with the single, “Nobody Else”. “Black Rose” sold 77,000 album units in its first week, including 74,000 full album copies, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan for the week ending July 16.
Rapper Meek Mill comes in at #2 with Dreams Worth More Than Money, followed by Taylor Swift’s unstoppable 1989 at #3.
The singer’s celebrity pals including actress Taraji P Henson and fellow singer Kelly Rowland, have also helped to promote the new record.
Debuting at No. 4 is the 29th installment of the Kidz Bop series, which contains kid-friendly takes on Swift’s Style and Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again.
Pop band R5’s second full-length album, “Sometime Last Night” debuted in the No. 6 spot.
