Warriors honored at White House
Obama peppered his remarks with humor directed in a variety of directions, recalling the days when the Warriors were among the worst teams in the National Basketball Association and pointing out Stephen Curry’s 51-point performance against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday amounted to him “clowning” his hometown team. “So we’re pretty lucky today because we’ve got one of those players in the house – Steve Kerr, from the 1995-’96 Chicago Bulls”.

Curry finished 19-for-28 from the field, including 11-for-16 on 3-pointers for his fourth career game with at least 50 points.
He did shower them with praise, however, in particular referencing the team’s small-ball lineup, which he called, “A nuclear lineup”.
The Warriors beat Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year’s National Basketball Association finals and are off to a historically strong start in their quest to repeat, with a 45-4 record so far this season. “It’s nearly unfair…. It’s handsome to watch”, per Zillgitt.
“If they play Draymond Green at the 5-spot, it’s always gonna be challenging to any frontcourt player”, Donovan said.
“They play as a team the way basketball is supposed to be played”.
Kerr then took to the podium and handed Obama a #44 jersey, saying he should join the squad after leaving the White House.
The Golden State Warriors are chasing the 72-10 win-loss record by the Chicago Bulls back in the 1995-1996 season, and that fact was not lost on Obama.
In attendance, along with friends and family of the team, was National Basketball Association great Jerry West who’s an executive with Golden State.
“We want you, as soon as your duties are done in the White House, to be the leader of Dub Nation”, Kerr said.
Riley is so A-list, that even President Obama can’t get an interview with her!
Reports have indicated the defending champion Warriors, who are 44-4 on the season, are the “significant front-runners” to sign 2013-14 MVP Durant – who is a free agent at the end of the season – should he choose to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“Consider this a symbol of an offer that’s coming”, Kerr said as he presented Obama with the jersey and the president demonstrated his shooting form.
