The morning after the NHL’s All-Star Game and while everyone reflects on the events of the last few days the industry is taking a look at the numbers, and not just the number of goals NHL All-Star MVP John Scott scored last night. In addition to Scott being named MVP, his team was awarded the US$1-million winner-take-all-prize.

Teams representing the Metropolitan and Atlantic divisions faced off in the first 20-minute, three-on-three game, and they were tentative while they figured out how to pace themselves. “It’s going to be so cool, ‘” Scott told Yahoo Sports. “The first game was more fun, and when guys make it to the finals you want to go out there and put your best foot forward”, Gibson said.
Scott’s MVP performance was a fitting ending to a day where the form chart, such as it is in any All-Star event, was flogged.
Scott captained the Pacific into the championship game with a 9-6 win over the Central Division.
He chose to play in the game.

A group of fans thought it would be amusing to vote for the league’s leading enforcer, a guy who has scored five goals in his entire career but who has also emerged as the game’s best fighter.
The journey took an ugly turn when the Coyotes traded him to Montreal, who promptly sent him down to their AHL affiliate, eliminating him from All-Star eligibility just weeks before the All-Star game.
It was the fans who voted Scott onto the All-Star team; they also voted him the game’s MVP, even though he wasn’t on the NHL’s ballot. “I love this city and thanks so much”.
In the semifinal win, Scott humorously knocked down former Chicago teammate Patrick Kane and then dropped the gloves in a mock fight against the skilled Blackhawks star after Kane answered with a goal. The players weren’t at their highest intensity but it was plenty good enough for a Sunday afternoon in January.
“I was nervous”, Scott laughed.

Living up to its moniker, Nashville filled the weekend with music from start to finish. While the other players wore their home team’s jersey, Scott dressed in a black All-Star jersey – after the National Hockey League reportedly vetoed his plan to wear the one from his current team, the AHL’s Saint John’s IceCaps. Tonight’s game was a bit of a mix up as far as what we’re used to featuring three games of 3 on 3 instead of one game of 5 on 5.
The NHL changed the format after last year’s All-Star Game featured 92 shots and a combined 29 goals for the biggest offensive display in the showcase’s 60-year history.
I was flipping around a bit on Sunday, checking out a couple of plays in the Pro Bowl and watching the Golden State Warriors play the New York Knicks. “I think deep down everyone wanted to see him do well, and he did”.

Doughty and his teammates quickly left for a flight to Los Angeles for practice Monday and a game at Arizona on Tuesday, but Scott isn’t sure what’s next for him besides the imminent birth of twins to him and his wife, Danielle. They had dominated against the Central, but with players from a hot Florida Panthers, and Boston Bruins team they were to be the underdog again.
