Jets CB Darrelle Revis considered retiring following 2012 knee injury

Yet that didn’t stop current Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis from taking a jab at his former teammate in the Big Apple. As we all know, Revis didn’t have the happiest ending during his first tenure with the Jets and he opens up about it, especially discussing the team’s failure to reach the Super Bowl. It was the knee injury in Miami that caused him to miss the final 14-games of the season.

Revis, whose trade to Tampa Bay by the Jets after the 2012 season was prompted by his frequent contract squabbles, also told the magazine that he makes no apologies for his bloodless approach to the business side of the game.

Revis could’ve re-signed with the Patriots, but he signed a blockbuster contract to return to the Jets – five years, $70 million, including $39 million fully guaranteed.

On the cover, Revis, arguably the best cornerback in the National Football League, strikes a Namath-like pose to the left of an inserted headline which reads “One Man Is An Island“, an obvious reference to “Revis Island”, the fictional place where all wide receivers that match up against Revis are said to be marooned.
