The reason is that apple is keeping a check whether the customer has got their handset repaired by a third party service center or not hence violating their privacy. The “error 53”, which is considered a new buzz in the tech world, but if it happens, the unfortunate soul would read the following message, “An unknown error has occurred (53)”, and the device expires shortly after.
The security feature is an added layer that Apple has provided in order to safeguard the user’s data on it. A hacker can get past the Touch ID fingerprint by simply replacing the sensor/home button on the device. This problem is named as “ERROR 53”, it is a mysterious error which is effecting the iPhones so much that they have to take the help of the third party services. Apple relies on the iPhone for two-thirds of its revenue. If a customers encounters Error 53, we encourage them to contact Apple Support. Apple has said that the users facing this issue must contact the company immediately. The Touch ID, if replaced, will need to be re-paired and re-validated with the motherboard and this can only be done by Apple’s authorised service centres.
The latest iPhone 6 software update is triggering a disturbing error that effectively “bricks” your phone with no prospect of recovering data.
If the button were to break and the user were to get it repaired by a non-Apple technician, the new and updated iOS system would recognise the fix as a threat to the device’s security and shut it down immediately. It will also be waterproof, and have software that will enable you to take underwater photography.
The company is broadening its Reuse and Recycle scheme to allow people to sell their phones on for store credit, which they can then use to buy a new one, according to 9to5mac.
Apple has a page on what to do if your phone displays the “Error 53” message.
