Vardy Signs New Deal With Leicester City

This season it has been a different story for both Vardy and Leicester. Vardy, along with his partner in crime Riyad Mahrez, have terrorised opposition defences, and have put Leicester in such a position in the league, where one can say it is their title to lose now. City manager Pellegrini, due to be succeeded by Pep Guardiola at the season’s end, admitted that Leicester had been worthy winners, but vowed that his side would not give up.

He added: “Leicester have shown nothing but total faith in me since the day I arrived and it’s impossible to measure how much that belief has helped me to improve”. “The bookmakers at the beginning said Ranieri would be the first to be sacked”. Mahrez started the second half by powering a shot past goalkeeper Joe Hart before Huth netted again on the hour.

Is it finally time to take Leicester seriously in the Premier League? . Aguero’s consolation goal came in the 87th minute after substitute Bersant Celina delivered an absolute peach of a cross.

City was ragged and things could have got considerably worse as they were pulled apart continually in the opening 20 minutes.

Watford who now sit 10th in league had chances of their own but Hugo Lloris was equal to the task. We couldn’t do it and now we are six points behind Leicester, but we have another 39 points to play for so it is important to be focused game by game and try to beat Tottenham here, as they are another team fighting for the title. The Saints find themselves in a deserved seventh place will definitely be looking to fight for a place in Europe with Manchester United and fifth place a mere 4 points away now.

Liverpool, with goals from Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana, were 2-0 up when numerous home fans left and they at least missed their side’s capitulation as efforts by Adam Johnson and Jermain Defoe, a minute from time, earned Sunderland a point.

But on the pitch he has been a revelation and in November he set a new Premier League record by scoring for the 11th game running in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Leicester City fan Leigh Herbert will pocket a cool 25,000 pounds ($NZ54,300) if his team complete their fairytale run and win the Premier League title.

He said: “If they continue the way they are playing they are favourites”. They weren’t expected to maintain their form but somehow, with only 13 matchdays to go, they remain at the top of the league.
