Bowlsby told reporters on Monday that he thinks most Big 12 presidents and athletic directors prefer the current setup of the league and said there’s no “critical mass” for expanding past 10 schools.
“If we go another year and get left out, and it appears to be systemic, we need to be mindful of it”, Bowlsby said of adding a conference postseason championship game.
“We believe it’s the right step, and we hope it will become the national rule”, Bowlsby said. “I favor a 12-team convention”. Bowlsby said the league could see anywhere between $20-30M for a conference champ game. “We think that full round-robin is the right way to determine it”.
