Final Fantasy IX now available on iOS and Android smartphones

Square Enix has followed up its release of Adventures of Mana to the Apple App Store with the launch of Final Fantasy IX for iOS and Android devices. Like the PC port of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII, this version of Final Fantasy IX comes with high resolution character models and a whole slew of cheat codes to make the game easier.

While the game is now listed at $16.99, it appears as though it will be 20% off from February 10th to February 21st.

The latest “Final Fantasy XV” details will showcase new game features, a possible PC in the works and tickets for the “Final Fantasy Uncovered” event sold out.

Here’s a full rundown of the mobile version of the game. After he and his theater troupe abduct Princess Garnet, they’re quickly confronted with a powerful new threat named Kuja that seeks to destroy their entire world. To their surprise, however, the princess herself yearned to escape the castle. There are some noticeable differences with this version of the game, including autosave and the addition of high-speed and no encounter modes. ・Trance Fill your Trance gauge as you sustain hits in battle. ・Minigames Whether it’s Chocobo Hot and Cold, Jump Rope, or Tetra Master, there are plenty of minigames to enjoy when you’re not off saving the world. In fact, Square recommends you have at least 8GB of free storage before even attempting to download (we’re guessing additional assets and music account for the additional 4GB).
