Griffin suspended four games for punch

Blake Griffin was suspended four games without pay on Tuesday for punching a team staff member, and the Los Angeles Clippers will dock the star forward’s pay for an additional game because he broke his shooting hand.

The suspension, of course, comes in response to Griffin striking a team employee back on January 23, an incident that left the forward with a broken hand. His wages will be withheld for a fifth game “for injuries he sustained”.

Recovery time from the injury is approximately four to six weeks, the team said.

Griffin had already been out of the lineup since December 26 after partially tearing a tendon in his left quad muscle. Blake is remorseful and has apologised for his actions. He understands his actions have consequences, and is eager to get back to work with his team-mates, the organisation and Clipper Nation, which starts immediately with rehab, appearances and attendance at games.

There was no immediate comment from Griffin.

Reported by celticsblog.com, known to be one of the league’s top insiders, Adrian Wojnarowski said that Griffin could be moved to the Celtics this coming summer especially if the Clippers don’t advance in the coming Playoffs. Testi reportedly went outside, Griffin followed and struck him again. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Clippers had not confirmed those details publicly. For the current season, Durant is averaging 27.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, through 36.1 minutes of playing time per game.

“This conduct has no place in our organization and this incident does not represent who we are as a team”, Rivers and Ballmer said in a joint statement.

The Clippers announced Tuesday they had suspended forward Blake Griffin four games for his role in an altercation with a team assistant equipment manager last month
