Mauricio Pochettino excited by his mix of young and old at Tottenham
Watford’s manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, describes facing Tottenham Hotspur as like playing “animals” because of how relentlessly they press, and believes they are the best team in the Premier League.

“I think they (Tottenham) have a good mix, I think they have youth and experience”.
‘We have played twice against City, twice against Tottenham, twice against Chelsea, and I think this is the more complete team. This season we’ve got players like Odion Ighalo from Watford FC, Robbie Brady from Norwich City and Charlie Daniels from AFC Bournemouth, but previous year the standout was Burnley’s marauding right back Kieran Trippier. But it was nice to get the goal and then we kept our composure, kept playing the same way and kept the ball. In football you can never stop. We know we can beat anyone in the league and that’s the attitude we have to keep. We still need to be more clinical, we created a lot of chances today but need to score more.
“We keep winning which is very important for us, but the next one at Manchester City is more important now”. Spurs are being overlooked for their achievements this year due to Leicester’s success, but the North London club have been superb and have a real chance of winning the league.
“I can feel that this is very important for our supporters, for all the people that love Tottenham, to be above them because the reality is they’re our sport enemy and you can feel that”.
“Now we focus on the next one”, Davies told his club’s official website. ‘We can compete in different competitions and we can win every game.
The emergence of players like Dele Alli and Eric Dier and the re-discovered brilliance of Mousa Dembele has been a massive boost and I fully expect us to push on towards the end of the season now.
Leading into the Etihad trip, common consensus still had the likes of City, Arsenal, and Tottenham ahead of the Foxes.
Manchester City’s loss to title rivals Leicester City earlier in the day had opened up the opportunity for Pochettino’s men to climb the table, and they did just that with an impressive performance.
“We kept calm as we knew we’d find the breakthrough at some stage”.

“It’s not easy to come here, especially when you’re having to defend for large parts of the game, but we showed character”. Now it’s on one of those three to chase them.
