The report also suggests that director F. Gary Gray isn’t looking for any actress, but rather has an eye on one particular actress. Variety reports that Charlize Theron is in early talks to play a villain in the upcoming Fast 8.

However, according to film industry sources, Theron has yet to see the film’s script or receive any kind of formal offer. No details were given about this character, but it’s said to be a “juicy role” for any actress, especially considering the massive global success of the Fast & Furious franchise. Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham are expected to return, along with other franchise favorites.
Quite honestly, we’d have preferred a Mad Max spin-off (titled Fast and Furiosa of course, ) but getting Theron to appear in a Fast and Furious film would be a massive coup for the franchise.
It was recently confirmed that there will be at least three more movies in the Fast And Furious series, bringing the total up to 10.
Production is set to start next spring with the film dated to bow on April 17, 2017.
