Johnny Depp stars as Donald Trump in surprise amusing or Die biopic
FunnyOrDie, striking while the iron is hot after Donald Trump’s Republican primary victory in New Hampshire, has released a 1980s-throwback movie starring Johnny Depp as the mogul-turned-politico. The film also stars Alfred Molina, Robert Morse, Patton Oswalt (as Merv Griffin), Jack McBrayer, Michaela Watkins (as Ivanna Trump), Henry Winkler, Stephen Merchant, Kristen Schaal, Andy Richter, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, and Alf (yes, that Alf).

Opening with commentary from director Ron Howard playing himself, it purports to be made-for-TV movie that was made by Trump himself, but which never aired (as intended in 1988) and was recently rediscovered at a garage sale in Arizona.
Directed by “Drunk History” creator Jeremy Konner and written by Joe Randazzo, “The Art of the Deal” is the Donald Trump skewering you’ve been waiting for.
According to the New York Times, Depp spent four days in early December taping the film and brought a whole team of professionals just to help style his hair.
“It was a insane, completely nuts idea that somehow we pulled off”, Adam McKay told the New York Times in an exclusive interview.
“The plan was to move really fast because we thought Trump would go away, at least as a Presidential candidate”.
To enhance the joke, amusing or Die even released a faux script featuring heavy annotation from “the film’s executive producer, Donald Trump, meant to be implemented by the script’s writer, Donald Trump”.

“We had a few people sign non-disclosures, but mostly we just begged people not to say anything”, Burke said. “Money, power, respect, and an Eastern European bride”, a blurb on the amusing of Die website reads. But all his success didn’t come for nothing.
