You can finally stream Apple Music on your Sonos system starting today

Apple Music is the latest music streaming service to join Sonos’ list of partners, which already includes rivals Spotify and Pandora, along with smaller players such as Google Play, Tidal, Deezer, and several others. Features like For You, New, Radio, and My Music will be available to those speakers as well.

That’s great news for anyone who uses Apple Music and has a Sonos speaker, because beginning today, Apple Music subscribers will be able to listen to their favorite tunes on a Sonos wireless speaker system.

The reason why it’s taken so long for the two systems to come together is because Sonos has been running a comprehensive beta program to ensure everything worked perfectly. Apple’s Eddy Cue commented on the beta test, calling it “great” and an “amazing listening experience”.

In addition to the release of Apple Music on Sonos devices, the company also revealed that a Sonos station is also being launched on the service, with the tracks selected through collaborations between Sonos and artists. Sonos has announced that Apple Music will finally, fully, and truly launch on its connected speakers on February 10, mixing Apple’s specially curated music selection with the unique features that Sonos’ speakers offer. Just open any Sonos controller app, click “Add Music Services”, scroll down to the Apple Music icon, and log into your account. The Sonos app is okay and streaming from Apple Music works well, as does search.

The move comes shortly after Spotify, Apple Music’s chief competitor, added support for Amazon Echo.
