Philadelphia region under Winter Storm Warning starting at midnight

The weather service says New York City, Philadelphia and northern New Jersey could get from 2 to 3 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday night.

The western edge of the North Fork – Wading River, Riverhead and Calverton – could see between 3 and 4 inches of snow. We are caught in a northwest flow, which brings cold air and snow showers from time to time. “Temperatures are going to drop throughout the week”. Snow chances continue Tuesday night. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy and cold with low temperatures in the low 20s.

The outlook Wednesday calls for yet another day of sunshine but with high temperatures peaking around 74 degrees. Still, she says people should plan for a longer commute on Monday evening. Snow will be moderate for most areas, with heavier amounts possible near the coast.

A foot of snow and “hazardous travel” could be in store for parts of Central New York as a lake effect storm hits today through Friday. Northwest wind around 10 miles per hour.

Winter Storm Nacio, named on Monday afternoon, is set to shower 15 states with snow until Wednesday morning.

Thursday: Wind wills will be below zero to start the day.

Only a trace to an inch of snow is expected before it ends later this morning; more light snow is expected on Thursday. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. A mix of rain and snow is possible today across the higher elevations of north Georgia. But expect lows in the 20s at night.

Snow likely before 1pm, then a chance of snow showers between 1pm and 3pm. Thursday will see a high of 37 degrees and a low of 21.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 15. Overnight, temperatures will fall in to the single digits under partly cloudy skies.
