The club’s owners were stunned by the scale of the protest and held talks over reviewing ticket prices in the aftermath.
He said: “An adult ticket for a Port Vale match can cost £22, and that’s for the cheapest seats”.
They have to work so hard to just maintain their average attendance figure.
Matt Owen, a Crewe season ticket holder, aged 37, from Crewe, said: “Ticketing prices in the lower echelons of the football league is a conundrum”.
BBC Sport’s Price of Football study found two thirds of Premier League tickets were frozen or reduced in price in 2015, and Liverpool have now joined Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Norwich and Swansea in freezing season-ticket prices for 2016-17.
The money-spinning English top flight is ending its 12-year association with Barclays bank in favour of becoming a “clean brand” and will from now on be known simply as “the Premier League”.
Those in favour of a price cap could also agree reciprocal arrangements with other like-minded teams, something which already happens in some instances.
“A more structured approach is required by all parties in relation to pricing but it won’t be resolved overnight”.
FSG who own Liverpool really get under my skin whenever they refer to Reds fan as “customers”.

“I hope it doesn’t become a massive saga and that Liverpool Football Club itself realises it’s the principle of the matter at the end of the day”.
