Why your Facebook News Feed is filled with Friends Day videos

Your Facebook feed may contain a new birthday reminder today and it belongs to the social media giant itself.

Maybe that’s why the company calls its February 4 birthday “Friends Day”. “And that’s the whole point of Friends Day”. Alternatively, if you want to watch Friends Day videos, search for the #FriendsDay hashtag on Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Facebook, was found to have 3.17 degrees of separation between him and everyone else.

The “6 degrees of separation” theory says that there are six connections separating one individual from anyone on Earth. As a way to celebrate the event with its huge community, Facebook has put out a personalized video for each one of us that collects our history of spending time with friends. According to the company over the past five years, the degrees of separation on the platform have decreased to 3.57 degrees, down from 3.74 degrees in 2011.

When you sign in to Facebook this morning, you’ll be greeted by a odd message: “Happy Friends Day!”.

Today, you can open your account to discover a short video created by a special algorithm Facebook has created to generate content from. “And when we fight for what we believe and change the world, we do that with friends too”, he added.

The level of separation varies from place to place, with users in the U.S. slightly better connected, with an average of 3.46.

It is kind of weird how many half-people use Facebook, but then again, there are a lot of people with accounts for their cats.

Facebook claims it has brought the world closer together.

Last month, Zuckerberg posted on Facebook asking users to celebrate Facebook’s 12th anniversary as ‘Friends Day’.
