Mumbai: LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone G5 has been touted to be different from all its previous high-end handsets with exciting features like slide-out battery, USB Type-C port, and dual cameras.

What’s the story so far?

LG added that it has incorporated a “unique” film with a glossy metallic finish to enhance the look and feel of the cover as well. But given LG’s marketing plan of revealing all in dribs and drabs before the event even starts, what’s the betting that we’ll get those sooner rather than later?

The Quick Cover for LG G5 will be on display at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain from February 22-25. As previously revealed, the G5 will feature an always-on screen so you can see the time and other notifications at a glance, which explains the major opening on the front. Rumors also suggested that the LG G5 will also have an Iris Retina scanner.

Supported cover functions will include calls and alarms, as well as the time, date, and notification views that are typical of windowed cases.

However, because of this new feature, some tech enthusiasts are now wondering if the LG G5 can actually handle running the idle screen all the time.
