We last saw Harry saying goodbye to his children at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts, in the epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II” will be going on sale in the United States and Canada on July 1. Rowling’s Pottermore website has just now announced that this summer will see the release of the print version of Harry Potter & the Cursed Child.
David Shelley, CEO of Little, Brown Book Group released a statement regarding the good news.
When it was announced that JK Rowling would be setting pen to paper to tell the world what happened after Harry Potter left Hogwarts, some of her fans were disappointed that her efforts would only make it to the stage, rather than in another novel.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will officially open in the West End on July 30, while the script will come out on the following day.
Jamie Parker (Guys and Dolls) will be starring as the adult version of Harry, Noma Dumezweni (A Raisin in the Sun) will play Hermione Granger, and Paul Thornley (London Road) will play Ron Weasley.
Many fans requested Rowling to consider publishing the play in book format.
“The preview process allows the creative team to rehearse changes and/or to explore specific scenes further, in front of a live audience”.
Interest in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from Wizarding World fandom has been massive, and now Potter fans across the globe will be able to join Harry, Ron and Hermione on the next stage of their journey.
The fans will be constantly updated about the Definitive Collector’s Edition on Pottermore.
