MI voted Big Ten favorite in baseball

Wisconsin is in desperate need of at least a point this weekend to save face in the Big Ten, while MI is eyeing sole possession of the conference with two wins in Madison. The Gophers finish the season versus Rutgers, at IL, versus Wisconsin and at Rutgers. Jok averages 3.5 shots per game off of screens, more than anyone in the Big Ten other than Michigan State’s Bryn Forbes.

Not only did the Penn State Nittany Lions knock off the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday at home, they moved back to. The Wolverines had no answer for IN during its 28-0 run, and followed it up getting stomped on by their rivals from East Lansing. If they can pull off the upset, the NCAA tournament will become very realistic for Greg Gard’s team. Look for MI to get a win at Minnesota and compete to beat #18 Purdue. The Boilermakers are 19-5 overall and 7-4 in league play and this week tangle with both teams from the Great Lakes State, Michigan State and Michigan. For Purdue to stay alive in the conference title race, it will have to beat the Spartans, something I’m not sure it can do. Iowa, Indiana and MI have come as a little bit of a surprise this season. However, after October 1st there aren’t two home games in a row the rest of the way. The Spartans can assert their dominance if they beat Purdue and IN this week IN what will be a crucial week for the conference as a whole.

Two weeks ago, the Maryland men’s basketball team seemed on the verge of dropping out of the top 10 in the Associated Press poll for the first time this season after a second Big Ten Conference road loss in as many weeks, to Michigan State.

Early on this year it looked like Maryland might have made a big leap offensively, but as the conference season wears on it’s clear that the Terps are really just a much better version of the team they had last season. Iowa picked up wins over Penn State and IL this week and has a big game on the docket this week against IN before a weekend matchup with Minnesota. Maryland has the most appearances at No. 2 without ever reaching the top spot, with 26. The Hoosiers went on a 25-0 to end the first half.
