OK Go make zero gravity look like ridiculous fun in new video

We can only imagine how these guys will top this video.

With the help of Russia’s S7 Airlines, the band shot its latest video in zero gravity.

The band spent a year preparing for the shoot, going through the same kinds of training astronauts do.

Hello, Dear Ones. Please enjoy our new video for “Upside Down & Inside Out”.

Instead of playing desert-strewn instruments with a vehicle, or rigging up a studio with an intricate setup that would make Rube Goldberg spin in his grave, this time the band takes flight – a zero gravity flight.

To turn their lofty dream into reality, the band’s members teamed with S7 Airlines (along with partners Good Morning America, Facebook, and Instagram) and travelled to Russia to train at ROSCOSMOS, Russia’s version of NASA. The plane can only grant 27 seconds of weightlessness at a time and then there’s a five-minute gap before weightlessness can be achieved again.

“Because we wanted the video to be a single, uninterrupted routine, we shot continuously over the course of eight consecutive weightless periods, which took about 45 minutes, total”, Sie added.

This is the fourth OK Go video that Sie directed with her brother, Damian Kulash, Jr., including the GRAMMY-winning clip “Here It Goes Again”. Her films include the 3D feature “Step Up All In” (Lionsgate/Summit 2014) and numerous award-winning shorts. The song is a track from the OK Go’s latest album, “Hungry Ghosts”.
